Just had the best afternoon talking to Michael Jalaru Torres about Blak Lens, indigenous photographers and photography in general. I had seen Michael's work before, even thought about reaching out, but Covid put an end to that. After seeing The Guardian article on the weekend, I did reach out. I was delighted, understatement, when Michael agreed to talk to my students. I run a class called The Working Photographer, it engages with industry on all levels clients, agents, other photographers, designers and agencies - when I heard about Blak Lens I was excited by the possibilities. Blak Lens aims to provide support for talented photographers across Australia, building a professional and cultural network to amplify each other's work and to change perceptions.

Blak Lens is first for Australia, and a first for this class with # # #photographer , but I hope we can build on it develop some projects together with photographers from Blak Lens & RMIT
