The familiar trails of Victoria's High Country continue to draw me back
The familiar trails of Victoria's High Country continue to draw me back. While my hiking companions Michael and Peter have grown accustomed to my glacial pace, their steady progress contrasts with my methodical documentation - each pause becoming a scanning session, each stop a potential image sequence. This overnight hike near the Howqua River Heritage area became an exercise in environmental awareness, and art practice. Two bush fires in the vicinity added another dimension, their presence carefully monitored, through an online app, ensured we were updated and safe throughout our journey. These repeated returns to known territories align with my ongoing exploration of 'walking as art' - where physical navigation of landscape becomes inseparable from artistic documentation. Each hike offers new perspectives on the dialogue between human presence and natural environment, where digital interpretation meets physical immersion. It was on this last hike I created the works for 'Remote Sensing - Future Living'.
