As one exhibition is de-installed and packed up work for the next begins

As one exhibition is de-installed and packed up work for the next begins. As some will know my current work is centred around this idea of connecting with nature through physical engagement, generally this is hiking, and making images. This process involves instantaneous layering of exposures: as the image is made, the layering process became visible & interactive. Movement and blur due to the subtle movements of nature and the maker. As one moves – whether intentionally or not - the image evolves; each breath taken is reflected in the final image. One's physiological response to the landscape is recorded as part of the image.

My next series will begin with a trek in Nepal, the image seen here is a google maps street view image of the Thorung La Pass (4450m/14599ft), over the 12 day hike I plan to make work. Next location with be Japan and then later in 2023 I'm be doing a residency in Iceland to complete the series.

The approach and making process will continue to evolve, I have included a link to the post recent exhibition. Look forward to departing Melbourne (November) soon and starting this new project.
