Had a fantastic workshop with the "Imaging Tech 3" students at RMIT, where I had the opportunity to share my unique approach to computational photography and generative AI. We delved into the significance of grounding our practice in the "Origin Image" (second image), captured and completed on-site, to harness the full potential of the surrounding environment. This method allows us to engage directly with the landscape, letting the natural elements and the imagination of the artist shape the narrative. By using ultra-slow shutter speeds and advanced AI techniques, I demonstrated how these tools can be combined to enhance the depth and complexity of our visual storytelling. My practice emphasises the delicate balance between traditional photographic methods and cutting-edge technology, guiding students to expand their creative horizons.

The workshop also explored how these innovative processes can transform the way we perceive and represent reality, inviting a deeper connection with the world around us. By blending human intuition with AI’s capacity to reimagine scenes, we create images that go beyond mere representation to evoke the emotion and atmosphere of the place itself. Excited to see how these concepts inspire the next generation of photographers to push the boundaries of their craft!
