When I took this photo in Xi'an after the Pingyao festival, I was struck by the mountains—they seemed to hold a kind of power or hidden history. I had just visited the terracotta warriors, and that experience definitely influenced my perspective. I wanted to capture some of that essence in the shot. The way the mist layers the mountains, fading from dark to light, felt like a reflection of the weight of history I had just experienced. There’s something timeless about this landscape, almost as if it holds untold stories, just like the warriors buried beneath the earth. I hope I managed to bring some of that feeling into this image.
